Greetings WHYSA Members!
I would like to introduce myself, my name is John Boone, and am the newly installed WHYSA Board President.
For those who do not know me, I am a teacher in the Woodland Hills School District for over 20 years, and a parent of the club members. I have been involved in the Association for 10 years now, as a coach; U6, U8, U10 coordinator, as well as Fields Coordinator/Commissioner.
This last year has been quite challenging, but despite the hurdles, we were able to offer our athletes the opportunity to safely play. We could not have managed navigating through COVID-19 without the many volunteers, coaches, the Woodland Hills School District and the Borough of Forest Hills. On behalf of the entire WHYSA Board, thank you for your patience and your support. To our players and families, it was a different year than the normal but we are happy to be playing. Thank you for sticking with us this season!
The main goal of WHYSA is to offer quality programming and provide a fun-fueled environment that encourages our players to enjoy the game with their peers. I am true believer that we can change people’s lives through a healthy sporting environment, soccer being one of them. We build lifelong friendships and create a sense of community and camaraderie which has a significant impact on our health and community.
We have a very motivated group of volunteers on the WHYSA Board of Directors. We have welcomed some new faces this year and have some returning Board Members in new roles. Regardless of their role on the Board, each Board Member seeks to support the Club. I encourage to you reach out to any of us if you have any questions or concerns about anything WHYSA related…including if you want to get involved, we are always looking for volunteers!
One area in which we need of volunteers is in on our Board as we have several open positions. These roles include Secretary, Registrar, Fields Coordinator and Social Media/Website Manager. These roles are very important to the function of the club, and we need your help in ensuring our success. Please contact me if you have any interest in supporting the Board - [email protected]
Registration is NOW open for the Fall season. It is important to register early and completely before the deadline.
